SeaDrometer
For the measurement of seawater salinity
Graphic - SeaDrometerl text

Why should I measure the salinity?

Specific Gravity (S.G.) is the term used for the measurement of the density or saltiness of seawater. Maintaining the correct natural levels, will reduce fish stress and reduce
risks of infection.
Below are some examples for fish and invertebrates:

REGION S.G.

Range Tolerated
Indo Pacific
=
1.018 to 1.022
Caribbean
=
1.020 to 1.025
Red Sea
=
1.028 to 1.034

How do I adjust the salt levels?

If the S.G. level is too low within the aquarium, then you need to add more sea salt such as Waterlife 's Ultramarine to increase the S.G. reading.
If the S.G. level is too high for the species being kept, add fresh-water to lower
the salt reading.

N.B. Always make S.G. gradually so as not to cause shock to your fishes.

Why choose Waterlife's SeaDrometer?

• Precision instrument (accuracy 0.002)
• Easy to use - common salt levels are clearly shown in green on the scale
• Salinity range (1.010 to 1.030)
• Does not require calibration
• No electronic components to corrode or batteries required
• Includes float tube and protective carry case for hydrometer
