Brooksby College, near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire offers full time courses on Fishery Studies, Freshwater Fishery Management, Aquatics and Fish Farming - specialising in coarse and ornamental fish. The nationally recognised courses provide excellent training in the farming, husbandry, breeding, nutrition and disease of cyprinids and management of coarse fisheries.


Cheshire and Borders Koi Society

The Society was formed in 2002 and started with 4 families who have a wealth of experience and knowledge in the keeping of koi. The membership is currently at 12 families and continues to grow steadily. Membership comes from Cheshire and the bordering counties. The Society's aim is promote the hobby of koi keeping in the Cheshire area by providing a forum where members can meet and exchange ideas in comfortable surroundings.
We hold a monthly meeting and also enjoy visiting other similar groups and arranging outings and visiting speakers. This is all aimed at increasing knowledge and awareness by learning from others experiences. We also hold a number of bbq's and members open days throughout the year.

Looking around the Internet, although CADAS is not the earliest established society of fishkeepers, it is one of the longest-lasting. Our longevity is purely down to the dedication and hard work of all our members.


East Pennine Koi Club

Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month.
We have guest speakers from all parts of the koi keeping world who come to give us interesting talks, slide shows, videos and demonstrations. Visits are arranged to other Koi clubs to view their ponds, trips to koi dealers, outings to koi shows and anything else of interest to our members.


Federation of British Aquatic Societies (FBAS)

Founded in 1938, the Federation of British Aquatic Societies (FBAS) is the largest fishkeeping-orientated organisation in the UK and provides wide-ranging support for aquatic Societies.

Through its JUDGES, PUBLICATIONS, AQUATALKS and VIDEOS together with the Federation's own annual FESTIVAL OF FISHKEEPING and free advice to everyone via its website, the FBAS can be actively seen to be encouraging responsible fishkeeping, no matter what area of interest - or level of proficiency - is involved.

Middlesex & Surrey Borders section of the British Koi Keepers Society was formed in September 1983 and is one of the premier sections of the British Koi Keepers Society (BKKS), and is here to promote the hobby of Koi Keeping, Nishikigoi.


Nottingham & District Koi Keepers Society

The Club meets 7:30 on the second Wednesday of each month at the Three Wheatsheaves, Derby Road Nottingham.

We have expert guest speakers, a large library and a large member base always ready with help and advice. The Club also organises pond visits, a koi photographic competition and many other social events. If you are interested in keeping koi, and want to learn more, then this is the club for you.

The aims of the club are to promote and encourage the hobby of Koi Fish Keeping within the Section's area and to aid fellow members where possible.
